Permission Management

This is an enhanced application for creating and administering permissions for new Operator UI services. Existing OpCon services will continue to use the Users and Roles applications.

In the existing system, the same permissions are applied across all user and role types, for example:

• No permission

• View permission

• Create and edit (which also assumes view permissions)

• Delete (which also assumes view, create, and edit permissions)

The new Permission Management application enables separate permissions to be defined for individual services. For example, in Channel Management you could restrict the ability of some users or roles to create broadcast channels while still allowing them to create or edit OTT channels.
