User profiles
Overview
OpenTV Video Platform supports user profiles, whereby each client user of an account can have their own profile, with its own:
Avatar
Watch history
Recommendations
Favourites
Preferred audio language
Preferred subtitle language
User recordings are managed at the account level. Recordings are not split by user profile.
A user profile can be designated as a child profile. In this case:
The profile must have an age rating associated with it.
Content and recommendations will be filtered according to the age rating.
When switching from a child profile to an adult profile, the user must enter the account’s parental control PIN (if one has been set).
Every account will have at least one user profile (the default profile). This can be modified but not deleted.
Additional user profiles may be created as required. The platform limits the number of user profiles to 50 per account, but the client can enforce a lower limit.
If the client application needs to sign in again (that is, if both the access token and the refresh token have expired), the default profile will be used.
