Emergency Alert System (EAS) integration

OpenTV Video Platform supports the Emergency Alert System (EAS) through integration with Digital Alert Systems. ION on Android TV also supports it.

This section explains what you have to do to enable EAS for your deployment.

EAS integration is only applicable for US operators.

Configuration

To enable EAS and OpenTV Video Platform to work together:

  1. Check if your One-Net device is running version 4.2 or later. If not, upgrade it.

  2. On the One-Net device, go to Setup > Net Alerts > EAS NET. Here:

    1. Click Add EAS_NET Client Interface to add a new client interface.

    2. In the EAS_NET Event Transfer Protocol dropdown, select SFTP Copy.

    3. Set Remote EAS NET Host Port to 22.

    4. Enter a username in the EAS_NET User box and send it to your NAGRAVISION representative.

    5. Under Event/Ancillary DataIP control options, paste the address of the SFTP endpoint (supplied to you by NAGRAVISION) into the Remote Host Address box.

  3. On the command line on the One-Net device, generate an RSA public/private key pair. Send the public key to your NAGRAVISION representative.

  4. Send your FIPS codes to your NAGRAVISION representative.

Data about EAS activity is reported to Data Warehouse, where you can use it to create a custom report.
