Managing guest entitlements

Overview

OpenTV Video Platform supports guest entitlements. Guest entitlements allow a user who has entitlements for a channel and entitlements for the guest entitlements capability feature to invite a limited number of guests who do not have entitlements for the channel to watch it for a limited time.

This allows the user to invite friends or family to watch (for example) a football match with them.

The guest entitlements feature only applies to live TV.

This section explains how to enable this feature in the platform.

Prerequisites

For the guest entitlements feature to work, the following must already be in place:

  • The Guest Entitlement Service (GES) must be deployed and the necessary supporting configuration added to BCM. Please contact your NAGRA representative to request this.
