Creating and managing device classifiers
A device classifier assigns each device to a device profile by matching the device’s reported characteristics (such as OS, screen size, etc.) using the rules defines in the classifier.
Creating a device classifier
To create a device classifier:
From the OpCon homepage, click System Configuration.
In the left pane, click Device Management.
In the right pane, click the Device Classifiers tab.
Click ADD CLASSIFIER.
In Name, type a name for the classifier.
To enable the classifier, click the Status switch. If the profile is not enabled, it will not be used to assign devices to device profiles.
In Device Limit, type (or use the plus and minus buttons) the number of allowed devices belonging to the selected device profile for each account.
In Device Profile, select the device profile that matching devices are to be assigned to.
Click ADD RULES.
For each rule you want to add:
In Operator, select the operator to be used.
In Key, select the field to be used.
In Value, type the value.
Optionally, in Rules Id, type the ID for the rule.
To delete a rule, click
.
Click CREATE.
Click CONTINUE.
If you define multiple rules, a device will only be assigned to the device profile if it matches ALL the rules.
That is, the rules are ANDed together.
Editing a device classifier
To edit a device classifier:
From the OpCon homepage, click System Configuration.
In the left pane, click Device Management.
In the right pane, click the Device Classifiers tab.
For the profile that you want to edit, click
at the right side of the row and click Edit Device Classifier….
Make the required changes.
Click SAVE CHANGES.
Click CONTINUE.
Deleting a device classifier
To delete a device classifier:
From the OpCon homepage, click System Configuration.
In the left pane, click Device Management.
In the right pane, click the Device Classifiers tab.
For the profile that you want to edit, click
at the right side of the row and click Delete….
To confirm deletion, click DELETE.
