Creating and managing device profiles

A device profile is a name for a grouping of devices and is used for setting limits for these groups.

Creating a device profile

To create a device profile:

  1. From the OpCon homepage, click System Configuration.

  2. In the left pane, click Device Management.

  3. In the right pane, click the Device Profiles tab.

  4. Click ADD PROFILE.

  5. In Profile Name, type the name of the profile.

  6. Optionally, in Device Type, type a name for the type of device that the profile includes (for example, Small screen devices).

  7. To enable the profile, click the Status switch.

  8. To enable in-home restriction (so that content can only be consumed on devices assigned to this profile at their home address/location), click the In Home Restricted switch.

  9. Optionally, you can add fields to the profile to indicate the features that devices with this profile support (for example, support for specific streaming formats).
    For each field that you want to add, under Features:

    1. Click ADD FIELD.

    2. Type the name of the feature in the text box that appears.

  10. To remove a field, click remove_circle_red_resized.png to the right of the field.

  11. Click CREATE.

  12. Click CONTINUE.

Editing a device profile

To edit a device profile:

  1. From the OpCon homepage, click System Configuration.

  2. In the left pane, click Device Management.

  3. In the right pane, click the Device Profiles tab.

  4. For the profile that you want to edit, click menu_black.png at the right side of the row and click Edit Device Profiles….

  5. Make the required changes.

  6. Click SAVE CHANGES.

  7. Click CONTINUE.

Deleting a device profile

If you delete a device profile that has devices associated with it, they will be assigned to the DEFAULT profile.

To delete a device profile:

  1. From the OpCon homepage, click System Configuration.

  2. In the left pane, click Device Management.

  3. In the right pane, click the Device Profiles tab.

  4. For the profile that you want to edit, click menu_black.png at the right side of the row and click Delete….

  5. To confirm deletion, click DELETE.
