What are editorial and technical channels?
This page describes the purpose of editorial and technical channels.
When you select a channel in the Channel Management app, you'll see that its editorial and technical channels are represented visually in a clickable diagram.

Example
Editorial channel
An editorial channel provides all the information necessary to present a channel to an end user, including name, logo, and where it is positioned in a list of channels (channel number).
It may also indicate features that are allowed or available on the channel including STCU, LTCU, Start-over and NPVR.
An editorial channel does not contain any information for the connection and playback to the broadcast/channel.
Technical channel
A technical channel represents a playable version of the editorial channel; this may be via OTT, IPTV or DVB (cable, satellite, terrestrial).
There may be multiple technical channels of the same transmission type, for example a DASH and an HLS version for the OTT channel. There may also be multiple technical channels representing the same channel in different transmission media, for example DVB Cable, OTT, etc.
Technical channels contain details of how to connect to the channel (playback URL, frequency, etc) and details of the security information and usage rules for playback.
