Create layouts

When you create a template, the first layout is created automatically. It will contain the settings made in the template, which can be changed if required. See Edit layout properties.

Create additional layouts

To create additional layouts:

  1. On the Rails Builder page, find and select the template.

  2. Above the panel on the right, click New Layout.

  3. Click the globe icon globe icon and select a locale for the layout.

  4. Complete the following fields:

Name

Enter a name for the layout.

Title

Enter a title for the layout.

Destination Selection

The destinations are the devices on which the layout will appear. The default is All Devices. To set the destination to selected devices only, choose Selected.

If you chose Selected, you can choose one or more of these destinations under Layout Destinations:

  • TV

  • Tablet

  • Desktop

  • Mobile

Default Rail Image Orientation

Select the required default image orientation for rail images.

Note: this setting can be overridden in the rail settings.

Additional Properties

Add any additional properties that are required for the layout. These enable you to apply additional formatting to templates according to your organisation's requirements.
Note: these key/value pairs are created by the operator and are not controlled by NAGRAVISION.

When you are ready, click Create Layout and then click Continue to save the layout.

Set the default layout

You can have multiple layouts within a template but only one can be set to Default.

To set a layout as the default:

  1. On the Rails Builder page, find and select the template.

  2. To set a layout as the default, click the 3-dot menu and then click Set as Default.

  3. Click Continue to save the settings.

Set a layout to Active

You can have multiple layouts within a template and the default layout will automatically be set to Active.

To set other layouts to Active:

  1. On the Rails Builder page, find and select the template.

  2. To set a layout to Active, click the 3-dot menu on the layout and then click Set as Active.

  3. Click Continue to save the settings.

Duplicate a layout

To duplicate a layout:

  1. On the Rails Builder page, find and select the template.

  2. Click the 3-dot menu on the layout that you want to duplicate, then click Duplicate Layout.

  3. Make any required changes to the new layout details, then click Create Layout.

  4. Click Continue to save the new layout.
